Dr. Terrence Lau

Dr. Lau is proud to be a San Francisco native and has been practicing in San Mateo since 2001. He started his practice in 2003 after several professional experiences at mobile clinics in the central valley and large hospitals such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Oakland. These environments exposed Dr. Lau to different approaches, styles, and methods in dentistry. It taught him that no single approach is right for everyone. With this in mind, the office was designed/fashioned in a way that personified this idea, and Dr. Lau himself. The result is an approachable, professional, and personalized dental practice that is inviting to people of all ages.

Dr. Lau attended the University of Southern California for both undergraduate studies and Dental School (He bleeds Cardinal and Gold). Following dental school, he decided to continue his dental education by specializing in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University. The time spent on the East Coast has given Dr. Lau a greater appreciation for the Bay Area, as well as, a better appreciation and perspective for relationships.

Dr. Lau is a cancer survivor and maintains an active healthy lifestyle. Outside the office, he spends his free time tinkering with cars, cheering on his favorite sports teams, running, spending time with his wife, and being his two kids’ biggest cheerleader on and off the field.
